Ministry of Music
Grace United Church has been blessed with a long history of choirs who enjoy singing Praises to God. We have been further blessed with the presence of Joe Calverley. He plays our famous organ like a Master and makes our choir practices both a learning time and a fun time. ( see Organ History)
At present, we have a medium-size choir, consisting of fifteen faithful members, who meet to practice on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m., September through June. We sing both contemporary and traditional musical arrangements. .
New members are most welcome at any time in the year. To join, please contact the church office at 905-765-2686 or email: info@graceunitedcaledonia.com
Thanks to a financial bequest and further donations from our congregation, Grace United purchased a set of 3 Octave Malmark handbells .A group of 11-14 participants were eager to create a handbell choir. In 2008, just six short weeks before a Christmas performance, the Bells of Grace began rehearsals. They played at the farewell service for Rev. Sandra and again on Christmas Eve. . Ellen Davey has considerable experience leading handbells and the group was delighted when she agreed to lead them. Ellen's patience and determination has inspired us greatly and we have now proficiently performed at a number of Sunday Services.
